THE SR. ANALYST USES STRONG QUANTITATIVE ANALYSIS SKILLS, MARKETING ACUMEN, AND CPG INDUSTRY EXPERTISE IN SYNDICATED DATA TO DEVELOP INFORMED, ACTIONABLE RECOMMENDATIONS.
Ownership of Nielsen database maintenance for Lifestyle Nutrition categories:
monthly review of new items – ensure placement in database structure is correct and characteristic coding is accurate
annual database restatement – solicits feedback from key stakeholders to ensure database structure and hierarchy address current business reporting and analytic needs
partners closely with Shopper & Category Management teams to ensure database category definitions are current and relevant
Responsible for setting up and providing Nitro training to new associates
Provides ongoing coaching to Nitro users as needed
Business Partner to commercial teams, addressing secondary research and analytic needs
Involves leveraging and synthesizing POS data analytics and various secondary data sources (industry, market, consumer) to address key business questions
Consider methodologies and scope out supplier capabilities to identify best research approach
Presentation of insights/recommendations to commercial teams
Weekly/monthly reporting of POS performance for brand and category
Presents, supports and defends research conclusions and implications for strategy development.
Strong project management skills establishing timely and realistic deadlines with business partners and works to meet those deadlines.
Interacting with cross-functional business partners
Budget and P.O. tracking responsibilities
EDUCATION
A minimum of bachelor’s degree in Business or other degree acceptable with previous market research experience; an MBA is preferred.
EXPERIENCE
Must have 3+ years’ experience with syndicated data, analytics, category management, or related experience. Experience with Nielsen or IRI POS data/database is preferred Demonstrated ability to move from research to business implications and make strong presentations of research data. Experience with collecting, organizing, tracking, and validating data inputs Experience with Consumer-Packaged Goods manufacturer and/or Healthcare industry is preferred. Demonstrated agility and problem-solving ability from prior work environments Demonstrated general business acumen from prior work environments Detail oriented with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY:
The Sr. Analyst, Market Insights, with guidance from Manager, will serve as a trusted advisor to the Adult Nutrition brand teams. Through a thorough understanding of the business problem, coupled with a concrete understanding of the business decision, will design, implement and analyze secondary data analysis to effectively answer the business questions and inform the decision. Research implications and recommendations have major impact on new product introductions, marketing and sales expenditures, financial expectations, production scheduling, etc. The position has a high degree of freedom and autonomy. Sound decision-making and excellent communication skills are critical due to the highly technical nature of this position.
